La Chica Art & Music, LLC, is owned and operated by Kathleen & Rudy Strukoff. The studio and gallery are located in The Arts Factory, 107 E Charleston, Las Vegas, NV 89104 (parking on Boulder Street between Art and First Streets.)

Kathleen is a painter of fine art who could be categorized as a "colorist" in the  school of study. Her work embodies the mood and feeling of a place, and captures the light in such a way as to give the viewer a sense of the temperature and the very time of day. Kathleen does much of her work "en Plein Air" or, in the open air at the actual location of the subject of her painting. She paints not only what she sees...but what she feels. In addition to her "Vegas Vibe" series of works, she also enjoys painting in the mountains of Utah and the desert spaces of her beloved southwest.

Rudy is a blues guitarist with a passion derived from The Rolling Stones, from whom he learned that all rock 'n' roll is a derivative of the blues musicians who hollered out songs in the juke joints, gambling halls and porches along the cotton belt of the southeastern United States. Rudy teaches his guitar technique in the friendly confines of the stage-lit backdrop of the La Chica Gallery floor, where students can learn in a relaxed environment with the latest in sound equipment.

Located in the just a few blocks north of the Las Vegas Strip at Las Vegas Blvd and Charleston in the heart of the Arts District in downtown Las Vegas, La Chica Art & Music is "not just a gallery, it's a destination." With special events, new shows, and guest artists and musicians appearing monthly.

The gallery has seen many new clients who are visitors to Las Vegas, from New York to L.A. and abroad, who want to take a piece of the "real" Las Vegas back home. Both foreigners and nationals traveling the great reaches of the southwest have found Kathleen's works familiar and enticing because her pieces capture the emotion and feeling of a place. Many times, it was a trail they have hiked or a road less traveled...that they too wandered down. Gallery visitors are drawn into the piece by the artist's emotional  rendering of the work, while laying down her colorful oils with heavy and bold strokes with her palette knife.

The Vegas locals love her works of the old downtown hotels, motels and casinos that date back to the time of Bugsy Siegel and the development of Las Vegas as a gambling and entertainment mecca. Often childhood stories pop into the conversation by the many “born & raised” Las Vegans who have long been hip to the "real" Las Vegas scene, from the fabled Naked City up through the Arts District, and up to East Fremont Street. This is where Kathleen works and paints.

Visitors looking for the cultural and artistic side of the real Las Vegas, have discovered the secret gem downtown known as the Arts Factory. To find La Chica Art & Music from the airport, take the short trip up I-15 north to Charleston and go east. Turn left at Art Street and an immediate left into the Arts Factory parking lot.
